Gold 70+
Any Gold Award (70 or higher) at a regional or Interschool event qualifies.
+1 non-qualifying
Every dancer may also bring one extra routine, even if it didn't qualify.

Top scorers from every tour stop across both countries compete side by side.
Three ways to the stage
Whether it's a Gold Award, an Accelerated Dancer callback, or a regional win — there's more than one path to Grand Finals.
Gold Award, 70+
Score 70 or higher at any NZ or Australia regional, or at Interschool, and your routine automatically qualifies for Grand Finals.
- Applies to solos, duos/trios and troupes
- One additional non-qualifying routine also allowed
The Grand Prix
Make the callback round in The Accelerated Dancer at any regional and you're automatically Top 3 — and straight through to Grand Finals, where the division becomes the Grand Prix, bringing together the Top 3 from every region.
The Victory Lap
Reserved for dancers who placed 1st at a regional event — an exclusive showcase performance at Grand Finals with cash prizes up for grabs. Entry is $79 and only open to regional winners.
An invitation to perform
Every regional stop nominates standouts across four categories. Category winners earn an exclusive invitation to perform live at the Finals Gala.
The Finals Gala
The weekend closes with VDC's black-tie Finals Gala — a ticketed evening live on one stage. Alongside every nominated performer and category winner, the Gala also features the highest-scoring troupes, duos/trios, and Grand Prix callback performances from across the event.
