What's Different?

VDC’s INTERSCHOOL event is a one-of-a-kind competition created specifically for school-based dance teams.

Unlike traditional competitions, the day includes industry-led workshops, on-stage rehearsals, and a high-energy Showcase Gala—all in one!

It’s designed to celebrate school spirit, teamwork, and performance growth in a supportive, fun, and educational environment.

How Does It Work?

The INTERSCHOOL event is structured to encourage creativity, teamwork, and performance development. Throughout the day, dancers take part in industry-led workshops and stage rehearsals before performing in the evening Showcase Gala.

SOLO, DUO & TRIO dancers receive a creative brief upon entry confirmation. These briefs are designed to inspire each dancer to interpret and develop a routine in any dance style, with full artistic freedom over music, costuming, and choreography. Performances are capped at 2 minutes and are judged on interpretation, creativity, and execution.

TROUPE routines (up to 3 minutes 30 seconds) can be student-led or teacher-choreographed, giving schools flexibility to showcase their unique strengths and collaboration.

All routines receive audio feedback from our judge, along with a detailed score breakdown—making the event as educational as it is exciting.
